TAKEOUT live @ Orlando Rock’s

Influences from Breaking BenjaminToolThe Band, The Cars, Metallica, Nirvana andPink Floyd, These guy’s are proving they have the musical style and ability to keep up with some of Hard Rock’s best.

Takeout’s  spark ignited in 2004 when Joseph Rivera II, Matt Sherman, and Mat Sadler met and created a unique sense of music and harmony. After much success on the local scene, Takeout’s original member’s decided to enhance their lineup with current lead guitar member, Zach Yeager. Zach’s addition to the band added a depth to Takeout’s guitar work that has enabled them to enhance their melodic rock showcase.

3 Bucksworth new CD: PURE

Originating as an acoustic duo in 2005 these Central Florida natives expanded their band with the addition of Mark in 2007 and Rod in 2009 creating the rock  solid sound crowd’s can’t get enough of. Calling themselves soul-driven root rock as they follow in a great tradition of legendary musicians and songwriters, as the guy’s really want to create “music for everyone”and you can really hear all the inspiration and genre’s that come together to form the new album. PURE has flavor’s ofCollective Soul, 90′s adult alternative and even Shinedown similarities are heard  in this album.

3 Bucksworth is trying to get their music to the people, Mark says, “It’s tough for any good band nowadays, but we can’t go the traditional route. We’re simply not able to go out on the road for any period of time, and we’re not ‘in the scene’; out at the clubs hanging with other bands and musicians. We have families and responsibilities. Luckily we’re still a hell of a cover band, so we can do a lot of gigs playing about half our own material and half covers and it works out well.”

This is a filling album with 11 track’s that are truly all listening worth.

Staring Blind Interview

image

Staring Blind is an alternative/hard rock Central Fl band that formed nearly a year and a half ago with Matt Carver as lead vocalist, Willie Carrasco on bass, Brandon Carrasco on lead guitar, and Tim Andujar on drums. Based out of Melbourne they have been playing all over Central Florida, even featured on WJRR’s Native Noise with their song ‘Black Arm’ which was written for a friend of the band who is currently commuting back & forth to Miami for filming as a contestant on the next season of Ink Masters on Spike TV. Most recently the band was selected by the Leesburg Bikefest as 2013 New Artist which the guy’s wrote and performed the original song ‘Four Stroke Heart’ exclusively for the event and was recorded at Evermore Sound in Orlando.

Check out our Interview as I spoke with lead singer Matt Carver about their sound, style and definition.

1. Can you introduce the band to our reader’s

Matt Carver – Lead Vocals, Brandon Carrasco – Guitar/Backing Vocals, Willie Carrasco – Bass, & Tim “Timmy Guns” Andujar – Drums/Backing Vocals

2. How long have you been playing together?

Staring Blind was formed a year & ½ ago with the current line-up with the exception of our drummer. Originally our percussionist was Dalton Smith but about 6 months ago he moved out of the area to attend college in Gainsville FL & Timmy stepped in to fill the void.

3. I noticed that all of you have been involved in past musical projects/bands, how has that past experience helped in defining your rock sound in Staring Blind?

Our past projects have mainly served to refine our style and help us realize what it is that we want to create. We all come from bands that fell into basically the same genre that we enjoy working in so they can be somewhat viewed as the research and development stages of our musical growth. The more you create the more chances you’re willing to take and you begin to understand what works & what doesn’t  When you’re just starting out you may feel confident about the quality of half of what you’re writing. Fortunately, at this point we feel as though we all mesh very well and have worked out most of the kinks so it’s easy to feel proud of everything that pours out.

4. In two words how would you define your musical style?

 Powerfully Evocative

5. Staring Blind, what exactly does that stand for?

Brandon actually came up with the name and though it sounds like an oxymoron we like to think of it as being similar to the thousand yard stare. It’s being lost inside your mind and though your eyes are open you are actually blind to the world around you.

6. Do you have one central lyricist or is it a collaborative effort?

Everyone in the band is responsible for writing their own parts in our originals so yes, Matt is our lyricist. Our process typically involves Brandon writing the rhythm and working out a general arrangement and then he will send it to Matt and together they compose the song from there. Matt will then write the lyrics and vocal melodies. Once the song is near completion the rest of the band will add their parts and flesh the song out even further until is complete. Many times the tune will evolve quite a bit from its initial version to the one we finally end up playing out and recording.

7. What would you like to say to all the OrlandoBand’s reader’s?

I think most of all we just want to thank everyone for all the support they’ve given us and for those who haven’t yet, please check us out on facebook or www.staringblind.com. We’re steadily booking more and more shows over in the Orlando area so we hope to see all the OrlandoBand’s readers soon!

Thank’s for the Interview Matt!

Save Rock And Roll: Epic NEW album from FOB

Put On Your War Paint!

jghghghghhghgRead it on the news stand’s as the Boy’s of the iconic American punk/rock band Fall Out Boy have yet again stole our attention and just maybe with the cryptic Lyrics that truly first made me a fan. This is by far one of their BEST! As Patrick’s big vocal’s not only fit the Lyrics but has endured societies ever varying perspective and changing quality of musical calamities that we are forced to respond to as music, but an added feature is his voice has taken on an almost Erie yet refreshing tone in track’s The Pheonix and The Mighty Fall which are also the two I recommend for the harder alternative fans those follower’s of Three Days Grace and The Used.                                                                                   Coming back to the infectious nostalgic pop/punk sound there is no better way to describe them than with their lyrical ingredient in Where did the Party Go “I’m here to collect your hearts, It’s the only reason that I sing, I don’t believe a word you say, But I can’t stop listening,” and of course their track Alone Together I’m outside the door, invite me in So we can go back and play pretend I’m on deck now, I’m up Tonight, I’m high as a private jet”.

Adding to this explosive record produced by Butch Walker is the talent’s of Big Sean onThe Mighty FallJust One Yesterday featuring FoxesCourtney tumblr_mk88kpcQR71qaii7yo1_500 (1)Love on the punk trackRat A Tat and Sir Elton John on the title track Save Rock and Roll.

If you are a veteran FOB fan than you’ll be addicted, if you’re a pop/punk junkie there’s a track you will be lip sinking to in the car like a 90′s pop star and hard rocker’s you shall not be forgotten either! eeee

Fall Out Boy will be invading House Of Blues Orlando on June 4th 2013

I need more dreams and less life, And I need that dark in a little more light, I cried tears you’ll never see, So f-ck you, you can go cry me an ocean and leave me be You are what you love, Not who loves you, In a world full of the word yes, I’m here to scream, No No ~ Save Rock And Roll feat. Elton John

The Marvelous Claw Crane Machine

This band really caught me by surprise as I wasn’t certain what to expect from the Panties and Robots. What I experienced was a pure contagious explosion of electronic sound’s bouncing off the backdrop of alternative rock rhythm’s while supporting the powerpop vocals. The master’s of the pop sound blasting from Panties and Robots is the Columbia based musicians Laura Rúa – Vocals, Diego Rodríguez – Guitar, Alejandro Perez – Drums, Felipe Perez – Guitar, Gab Fontecha – Synths/Grooves, Carlos Valderrama – Bass.

One quality I really found unique about this band is the way they approach their genre and branding. Using vintage style artwork to animate the cover of their newest CD release ‘The Marvelous Claw Crane Machine’. And playful flirty tracks really a ‘soundtrack to summer’ kind of CD. With The band’s vocals being provided by Laura whose sound and range is reminiscent of Cassadee Pope in her Hey Monday day’s .

300519_187544614656793_2019470060_nPanties and Robots is the perfect fit for any of you that are fans of Cobra Starship, Cash Cash and The White Tie Affair.

Hope In Disguise

image

New to the scene and freshly uncovered for your enjoyment. This band emerges out of California with an electronic/pop, progressive collaboration. Now Check out our Interview with Hope In Disguise’s creator and lyricist Chris Ayala

Would you like to introduce yourself to our reader’s?

Hi, I’m Chris Ayala I sing and write the lyrics for Hope In Disguise

Where did the name ‘Hope in Disguise’ originate from exactly?
My friend came up with the name. We were looking for something that caught the eye and had meaning
How long have all of you been playing together?   I was solo for almost a year before AJ joined. So this version of Hope In Disguise has been together since December of 2012
Is there a particular producer you hope to work with in the future or have already worked with? The producer we work with now is pretty amazing. He knows our sound very well. I guess to work with Nat from 3OH!3 would be pretty cool cause we are influenced by them
What is the weirdest/funnest thing that has ever happened to you while performing? We recently played a show where the cables broke and we were left on stage for about 5 minutes just talking to the crowd. It was awkward but we made it work.
If you were ‘DARED’ to do a cover of a POP hit, which one would it be? We wouldn’t need to be dared we love pop music. We have some pop covers coming out on our summer EP. I wouldn’t call the songs mainstream hits but we really like the way they came out. For mainstream maybe beauty and the beat by Justin Bieber would be cool.
Who would be you dream band/artist to tour with? I would love to tour with All Time Low. Not the same style but I just love their music. I know AJ loves Pierce The Veil so maybe we should just go on the spring fever tour :)
What is the #1 song on your playlist right now? ’You Be Tails I’ll Be Sonic’ by A Day To Remember
Is there anything you  would like to tell our reader’s? Check us out if you like catchy beats, screams mixed with meaningful lyrics and raps. It’s really unique :)

Thank’s Chris!
